Aaron Estes is a software security consultant, engineer and professor who has worked with the nations top defense contractors, financial institutions, and electronics and entertainment conglomerates to assess security risk and solve some of the most critical security concerns of todays’ changing digital world. Aaron has set his professional career apart by focusing on academic discipline as well as creative passion to create a level of skill based not only on technical skill but also in-depth knowledge of engineering discipline and computer science theory. Aaron has achieved a depth of immersion into the world of computer security rarely seen in this relatively young field. Aaron now works for Lockheed Martin Corporation.

Aaron has over 12 years of experience in software development and security engineering. His expertise includes secure coding and code review, penetration-testing, security architecture review and network security. Aaron has had key security engineering roles on several of Lockheed Martin’s largest contracts including the F-35 Lightening II, F-22 Raptor, and the HRAcess programs. He has led assessments on key internal initiatives. In addition to Lockheed Martin, Aaron has worked with a number for Fortune 500 companies as a security consultant.

Aaron has over 5 years of teaching experience at Southern Methodist University at the undergraduate and graduate level. He teaches various courses in security engineering and has developed new curricula for the program in Advanced Software Security and System Security Engineering. Aaron is working to complete his doctorate degree in Software Engineering with a focus on security software at SMU.
